My Background
I hold a PhD in Clinical Psychology from Pacifica Graduate Institute,
a small school specializing in depth psychology. My doctorial research
focused on experiences of mental and emotional fragmentation following
experiences of trauma and explored the process of healing from such
experiences in adulthood. I used mythology, psychoanalytic theory,
and archetypal theory as the lenses through which to consider this
material.
I am a Certified Counselor in the State of Washington, and I am
working towards licensure as a Clinical Psychologist. I practice
under the supervision of a senior clinician while I accrue the supervised
hours needed to sit for the Clinical Psychology licensing exam.
I am a member of several local and national professional organizations
including:
- American Psychological Association, Division 39, Psychoanalysis
- Washington Psychological Association
- Northwest Alliance for Psychoanalytic Study
- International Association for the Study of Dreams
- Seattle Counselors Association
I bring 25 years of experience in human services, counseling, and
the arts to my practice of psychotherapy. If you have further questions
about my background, orientation, or training that will help you
in your search for a therapist, please call or email.
